“Tree!? I am no tree! I am a beer!” Perhaps the most experimental (and extraordinary) hazy IPA we have attempted, ‘Tree Stride,’ started with a base of German Pilsner malt and heavy doses of flaked oats and wheat, we then topped off the malt bill with a portion of malted spelt for an extra unique grain flavor. Hopped in the whirlpool with large amounts of New Zealand ‘Nelson Sauvin’ and German ‘Hallertau Blanc’ hops we then dialed the dry hop to eleven with Hallertau Blanc added during active fermentation and absurd amounts of Nelson Sauvin throughout. Eccentric aromas of white wine grapes, gooseberries, elderflower, and lemongrass spring to life while the flavor follows with smooth wheat, fruity hops, and sauvignon blanc notes; topped off with a pillow-soft mouthfeel and almost no perceived hop bitterness.
