Barrel Aged Coffee Stout. You may remember this beer as “NHJP’s Coffee Stout” during its first incarnation at the pub. Well we took some of the NHJP and let it age inside one of our whiskey and one of our rum barrels blended them together and let it become “Barrel House”.
This beer was made with “Jack’s Blend” coffee from JP’s just across the street from us on 8th Street. The coffee is a blend of beans from Indonesia, Africa and the Americas and you can defiantly taste the best of these select beans in the first sip. The rich coffee flavors are followed by a very slight citrus tone from the hops used before this beer leaves your palette with a dry finish.
