Absolutely traditional in design and execution, Atwater’s Bloktoberfest exhibits bready, nut-like characters with a clean, light sweetness brought to heel by a crisp hop finish. Bavarian in its ancestry, German Style Marzens were brewed only from the end of September through April. They were then stored cold and the remainder served at Oktoberfest to celebrate the harvest and the beginning of the brewing season. The style exhibits clean, bready, toasty notes with the increased alcohol and hop bitterness required for stability during aging.
